Rochester Quadrajet Cleaning

Now that you have your carburetor disassembled,  you can begin a detailed cleaning process.  This process simply means cleaning the carburetor parts inside and out. 

Use pipe cleaners, mild sand paper, an exacto knife or steal wool to clean all passageways and crevices.  This is when that can of "carb cleaner" or "brake clean" comes in handy.  J

ust insert the plastic tube that is supplied with your aerosol cleaning product into passageways to both clean and blow them out.  Make sure to wear safety glasses.  Make sure to wear safety glasses.  Must I say it again?

By the way, that brown looking soot inside the fuel bowl is caused by fuel additives in your fuel.

Now after an hour or so of laborious work you should have all your parts pretty well cleaned.  Now for re-assembly.
